Here at Bar Alto, it is our passion to help others explore the flavours of Italy. So it is no surprise we chose to give you a taste of the region that gave birth to two of Italy’s most beautiful cities, is home to the Italian renaissance, mystified the world with it’s leaning architecture and produces no less that the finest of wines; Tuscany.
Tuscan wineries are of the most intimate nature and have been a part of Italian culture for centuries. As we seduce you with a glass of 2009 Poggiotondo’ Cerro del Masso’ Chianti from the heart of Tuscany, touch on a sense of what the regions about with a petite snack or full dining experience.
We’ve captured the robust flavours within two choices of entrée; Raviloli gnudi (a nude cavalo nero and ricotta ravioli crowned with sage butter) and Pici alle briciole (hand rolled spaghetti, chili, garlic and bread crumbs).
Take part in the art of eating with a dish of peposo alla fornacina (Florentine beef cheek stew with chianti, garlic and black pepper) or pesce alla livornese (pan-fried market fresh fish, chili, tomato, black olives and evoo) – We assure you, you’ll depart no less than an expert.
And as the final stroke of your portrait, indulge in a traditional zucotto – Florentine cake filled with chocolate, hazelnuts and saffron cream.
You may not be able to experience the sights, sounds and tastes of Italy all in one day. However, at Bar Alto travel through the culinary delights each lunch at a time, and absorb yourself in the freshest of flavours straight from the Italian pantry.
