Mothers make the world go round; Italians probably know this better than anyone. And with Mothers Day in Brisbane just around the corner, we’re getting ready to treat all those beautiful mothers to some true Italian love, gratitude and all things home-made and authentic, from antipasti da Dividere to dolci.
Incomparably loving, mamma italiana knows all about affection, warmth, and good food. Cherished as the glue that keeps the family together, these strong women are capable of anything. Of course, homemade ravioli, gnocchi or meatballs true Italian style made my la mamma are an added bonus.
If you have a mother anything alike, you’ll know that the cheek-pinch is one of the most painful displays of affection, she’s always encouraging seconds, and her two essentials when cooking are a glass of wine and someone to gossip to about the extended family. You’ll also know to never admit if her pasta sauce has been beaten, however unlikely it is.
No one knows how to celebrate and spoil mothers like the Italians, so whether you’re a mamma’s boy or a loving daughter, treat your mum or Nonna to an outing full of flavour and amore with us. Sit on our open timber balcony with magnificent river views, raise your glasses of Valpolicella and enjoy the freshly rolled pasta and mouth-watering sauces that possibly rival her own (but we know she’ll never let on). For a relaxed Mothers Day in Brisbane, Bar Alto will be open for lunch and dinner on Sunday 10th May.
